Persepolis: Most importantly, It is an amazing UNESCO site in Iran. in addition, it was a ceremonial capital of Achaemenid period (550-330 BC).
Persepolis is the modern name of “Parseh, It is an ancient Persian language, and the Greeks have called it Persepolis (in Greek, “Shar_e Parseh/ The city of Parseh”).This complex is called Persepolis or The Royal Palace of Jamshid, the mythical king of Iran, which is presented in Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh. As mentioned in different historical sources, we can say that the construction of Persepolis began about 25 centuries ago in the western slopes of Mount Rahmat, Mitra or Mehr.
However, it was constructed during the time of Darius the Great, and then continued by his successors with some changes in its original building. However, according to the inscriptions which are discovered in Persepolis, architects, artists, professors, workers, women and men participated in the construction. That is to say, all had salaries and used labor insurance benefits. The construction of Persepolis, this great and beautiful complex, according to a narrative, lasted only 120 years.
Pasargadae: It is the first Capital of Achaemenid dynasty under the Cyrus the Great empire. also, it is an UNESCO site.
Undoubtedly, the most prominent attraction is the tomb of Cyrus the Great, who was previously known as “Mashhad the Mother of Solomon”. Pasargadae complex is known as the fifth Iranian monument on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Also, it was registered in July 2004 (approved by 100% votes).
According to Herodotus (archaeologist), Cyrus invaded the Scythian tribes in Central Asia after many conquests in 526 B.C., which unfortunately killed and buried in Pasargadae in the war against the Masagats (an Iranian ethnic group and a semi-Saharan Scythian family in Central Asia). The magical building of Pasargadae is located in a plain with an altitude of 1,900 meters above the surface of the mountain.
Naghsh-e Rostam/ Necropolis: It is an ancient necropolis located northwest of Persepolis. Further, it has 3 eras histories.
In Naghsh_e Rostam or Necropolis, you can see the historical monuments of the Elamian, Achaemenid and Sassanid periods. In addition, the tombs of several great Achaemenid kings such as Darius,Khashayar shah (Xerxes), Ardeshir I and Darius II are located there. Besides that, there are also many beautiful highlights from the coronation of Ardeshir Babakan and the victory of Shapur I over the Emperor of Rome.
The most magnificent ones, are the mysterious tombs, with square-shaped entrances. These doors, however, were locked in ancient times by large stones placed behind the door and were actually sealed. Everything in these two tombs is even similar in appearance, and the only difference is in the inscription on top of Cyrus the Great’s tomb and not in the tomb of Xerxes. The inscription is written in nailed script and is said to praise The Great Darius of Ahura Mazda and talk about his thoughts.
Inside Darius’ tomb, there are nine mysterious stone-made coffins, the burial site of the king, the Queen, and the rest of his clan. The Cube of Zoroaster or Ka’ba-ye Zartosht is another building in the Necropolis. When the ancient Persia being captured, some clans thought that any religion should own a center, so it was named the Cube of Zoroaster. While the use of this building has been the maintenance of Avesta’s book and courtship of treasures, however, it is not clear yet the main purpose of this astounding structure.
Eram Garden – Shiraz
Eram Garden: One of the most beautiful Persian garden and UNESCO garden is Eram. that is to say, It is An amazing architecture and memorizing atmosphere. Eram Garden in Shiraz is an example of a garden-Koshk that is popular among tourists due to citrus trees and a long street with magnificent cedars. In addition to the main koshk of the Qajar era, which is the core of this garden, the long and spectacular cedars with several years of history have doubled its beauty. Eram Garden in Shiraz with an area of 110,380 square meters was registered in 1974 as UNESCO heritage site.
Tomb of Hafiz: The greatest poet of all the time, Hafiz was born and died in Shiraz.
The Tomb of Hafiz is located in the north of Shiraz city and south of the Gate of the Qur’an. It is interesting to know that the designer of this tomb is a French architect named Andre Godard who was particularly interested in Iranian culture and art. However, he lived in Iran for about 32 years.
During the time, he did some great works in Iran, including registering three historical hills, Suleiman Tappeh, Zirz and Mazir. The tomb was also restored during the reign of Shah Abbas safavi as well as the Zandiye dynasty. It was during the Zandiye dynasty that a stone was placed on Hafez’s grave of marble.
During the Kingship of Karim Khan Zand and after the death of Hafiz, the ruler of city built a mansion in the shape of dome above and also a large pool in front of it. In 1931, on the southern wall of this place, the head was installed in a large stone. This large tomb is composed of different parts. And it’s interesting to know that everything in this tomb has a certain meaning.
