Naqsh-e Jahan square
The main tourist spot of Isfahan is Naqsh-e Jahan Square or Imam Meidan. Also, It is a world heritage UNESCO site. To clarify, the meaning of this square is “the Image of World” in Persian. History of Square
Shah Abbas Safavi built Imam Square/ Meidan in 1598 and 1629. further, then he decided to move his capital from Qazvin city to Isfahan. So, he thought Isfahan was the more secure and convenient place. Imam Square was designed to create a place to hold national events. The architect of this project was Shaykh Bahai. Consequently, as it was the main center for important political strategy, the square is surrounded by several buildings.
